|Rainbow at 6 or 7 months. Comfy!|
This baby sling is made by Indigo Baby. It's called Baby Pouch Carrier 850 Php (Previously I though this was called Saya Baby Carrier. Toink! Apologies for that! I bought it almost a year ago and I just knew I bough it from Indigo Baby). I came across their booth at last year's Mommy Mundo Baby Bazaar at Rockwell. It's so easy to slide the baby in. It just takes two swift motions. No detachable parts so there's no fear of it breaking loose and the baby falling off. It's just one sturdy piece of cloth that's already sewn tightly together. It's simply an easy comfortable baby carrier. Before getting this, we already had bought a baby carrier from Chicco. The one that looks like an inverted backpack. It's sturdy and really looks secure. And there's a lot of good cushioning that makes the baby really comfortable and gives good neck support.
|Rain loves her Chicco carrier too! But complicated to put her in.|
As much as it did a great job in carrying Rain and keeping her comfy, I had a hard time putting Rain in and out of it. It's a lot of work. I would always need one more person to assist and make sure her legs won't get caught in one of the straps. So I found myself using the Indigo Baby Pouch more. And just a little back story, Richie was the one who originally really wanted this type of baby carrier because he wanted to bring Rain and make her part of his planned Halloween costume that year. He was very excited about it. I was not. Obviously I had to burst his bubble:
Like any other piece of clothing, baby slings like this one need to be fitted. I didn't even know it came in different sizes until we went home when I saw the "small" indication on the tag. I guess I was distracted with choosing the perfect design. And maybe the sales lady also forgot to tell me there are sizes when I was choosing. Either that or she had already assumed the size I needed just by looking at me and Rain because it fit perfectly. In fact I used it immediately as soon as I bought it. And just a few minutes after putting her in the baby sling, she fell asleep. Just shows how comfortable she is in the sling. And so I was able to go around the Mommy Mundo bazaar to look at other stuff with ease and with two free hands, all the while having my precious baby snoozing so close to me. And compared to the bulky baby carriers, my indigo baby sling cradles a baby like a mother's arms. That's the real selling point for me. I just wish I had purchased a medium one so I can still use it now that she's over a year old. She gets squirmy now because it's too tight already. Maybe i'll get one more.Excited to choose a funky new print!
