But in this taxi driver's case, it's driving a cab and selling embutido and peanut butter at the same time. Only in the Philippines!
I took a cab going to Richie's office earlier today and I couldn't believe what I found in his cab. There were actually two baskets tied together and placed snuggly in the middle of the car. One basket contained the embutidos, the other contained plastic jars of peanut butter. And on top hung a laminated FOR SALE: Embutido sign with his name and contact number. Now that's something you don't see in a cab everyday.
As soon as the cab took off, Manong Alfred (the driver) immediately started his sales pitch of how he and his wife make those goodies from scratch. I was actually thisclose to buying the peanut butter because he was explaining how healthy their peanut butter is. He even held up one jar to show me how it didn't have oil and he explained that they even added malunggay.
((( Hmmm... Impressive! )))
It's P80 for the embutido and P120 for the peanut butter. But if you buy 10 or more of the embutido, he can give it for P75 a piece so you can resell it and make a profit!
((( Round of applause!! )))
But wait! There's more! THEY DELIVER! ANYWHERE!
((( STANDING OVATION!!!!!!!! )))
Again, only in the Philippines! I hopped out of the cab with a smile on my face, fascinated by Manong Alfred's enthusiasm for his products and his will to do more. But honestly a bit worried if I smelled a bit like embutido. Hehe.
|Zoomed in shot of the sign :-) Sorry blurred. The cab was moving na kasi hehehe|
