Sabrina's Kitchen Series #3 : Ultimate Illongga Inasal

Who says you can't make your own inasal? Sabrina Artadi shows you it's very possible to make this famous Pinoy chicken recipe right at the comfort of your own home!
Got no oven like me? No problemo! You can grill instead! This is the chicken dish Sabrina cooked for us during our little trip to her kitchen.

Ultimate Illonga Inasal

The Chicken...
- 1 whole chicken, cut into parts.. Legs ,breast etc.. Basically any part you deem worthy! For me, I love thigh part! (Willing to wait)
For the sauce...
- 1 cup banana ketchup
- 1/4 cup chopped garlic
- 1/4 bunch tanglad (Filipino lemon grass) for maximum flavor
- 1/4 bunch guava leaves
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup rhum

Three special steps is all you need!
1.) Mix all the sauce ingredients together. Bathe all chicken in this sauce
2.) Heat up your grill or oven to 350F then cook for about 25 to 30 minutes
3.) Place on skewers and serve!
Reminder: Best served with white steaming rice!

For Sabrina's presentation, she poked the chicken in a banana bark for that fiesta Sinulug touch! We really enjoyed this recipe! But I think I would love it even more if I had soy sauce with kalamansi as sawsawan (sauce). I'm really a sauce person.
My whole mouth is now watering at almost 3am! Good luck to me!
Gracefully taking the chicken out of the oven
Sabrina's Kitchen will start airing on the Asian Food Channel, 19th of April.
It's every Friday at 8pm with replays on Saturday at 1:30pm and Sundays at 8:30 am.
