Wake Up Call from My Real-Life Brosia

I love Pugad Baboy! It's hilarious! Aside from the witty humor based on Filipino family everyday life, the illustrations are hilarious as well! What I especially find funny is Brosia's frank and insulting comments towards her boss, and everyone else in Pugad Baboy Village. So funny!!! But I didn't actually think I would experience getting a comment-ala-Brosia from our maid:

Rina: Vivian, pag ako lang ang kakain ng dinner, gusto ko before 6PM naka kain na ako kasi nagddiet ako. (If I'm the only person at home, I'll have dinner early. Before 6PM. Because it's my diet strategy)

Vivian: Eh mataba parin kayo ma'am eh (But you're still fat, ma'am)

Rina: Wow. Thank you ha?

Dagukan ko kaya to? (Should I thump her in the head?)

But it's okay. It's nice to have some comedy in life sometimes. But it was like a wake up call for me that I need to get back in shape asap even if we attend food events. (Good luck Rina!). I know It's only been 1 year and 8 months since I gave birth but I think it's better to do something early than to keep making excuses and pushing it back. Last night at Bulgoggi Brothers, their new menu was so good I actually ate 2 and a half cups of rice! (Disclaimer: One order is not much actually.Looks like half of the usual Tapsilog-an rice cup serving I promise!)

I feel depresed whenever I see my old albums in facebook:

My newlywed weight
2008 Halloween Party at the Bohol Residence

Feeling Pop Star kunwari hahaha!

I know to effectively loose weight I should cut down on carbs and do some exercise. But I don't really have the time to get back to my Hip-Hop Abs right now. So I thought I would just do things that will help burn some calories even for a tiny bit. Something I can do everyday.

Step number one would be to get things I need myself instead of asking the maid to get it. Having a main doesn't mean you have to slack off and let her do everything. When I need something from the room, I'll get it myself. Climbing stairs for sure burns some calories.

Step two is to play more dancing games with Rain. Yes I look stupid when doing it but what the heck? A good example is to imitate the dance moves of the opening and closing dance number of Hi-5 hahaha!

Step 3 is maybe to schedule a walk outside with Rain in the afternoon. For sure she will try to run and I would have to chase her. For sure I'll burn some calories there.

Well these are off the top of my head for now. Things that just basically gets me off my a** and move instead of just sitting all day in front of a computer.  Maybe when I'm out to attend events I should park somewhere not quite near from the venue so I'd have to walk a lot hehe.

Anyway, just a quick thought of the day. Wish me luck!

I feel the same way (though hindi ako kasing sexy mo before! and it's been 1 year and 4 months since I gave birth. Nakaka-depressed din talaga lalo na, I don't have the time din to jog and all.

    Here's to losing weight!

  3. Hi Rina! Sometimes I wonder if we can still get rid of this post-partum weight. Effective ba yung Nestle Fitnesse!? I miss fitting in my old clothes. Hanggang pangarap ka na lang ba? :p

    1. Hi Glaiza! I tried the 14-day program before of Fitnesse. Hindi ako umabot ng 3 days hahaha! I can't help it! I love to eat! And with food blogging, it's going to be a real challenge for me to try the fitness program again :-(

Kung kaya ng mga contestants sa Big Loser, I'm sure mas kaya natin ;-)

  6. Hi Mommy Rina! It's a lame excuse talaga the reasoning na I'm fat or gained weight because I just gave birth. And that's okay lang. That's also for me to be reminded. Before when I was breastfeeding, bahala na si Batman ang thinking ko. I eat a lot because I know it will benefit my baby nursing in me. And it doesn't affect my figure a bit. Then when I don't have breastmilk na, same eating habit pa rin. That's why I bloated na talaga. Todo na talaga natin ang pag loose weight for our own benefit, hehehe.. Goodluck sa atin mga mommies!!

  11. You're the hottest woman in the world to me. The mere fact that you gave birth to our daughter made you even more beautiful.

I love you and I support whatever you want to do to make you happy, but just so you know, all you ever need to be is exactly who you are, because to me you're absolutely perfect.

  13. More power to your weight loss goals, Rina! If you want to consider getting more active, maybe you and Richie can take up a sport together. It's super fun, and having a joint activity where you're not parents or bloggers or ad people, just you two together having fun. :)

Just an idea inspired by the couples I know who took Milo Apex together. :)

    1. Ugh, please forgive the terrible grammar. I meant to say, " having a joint activity where you're not parents or bloggers or ad people is both liberating and enjoyable - it's just the two of you having fun together". :)

  15. I can totally relate. Fitting into a "small" now seems like a distant memory. A slow and steady process - though looking at my photos now compared to those after I gave birth (2006), I look a bit thinner. Sigh, I know that I am still a work in progress.

Btw, you still look pretty (even prettier actually). Mommyhood suits you :)

  16. Aim for a higher progress and development and work your way from those goals and plans. Interesting in here indeed. thanks for the share.
