Disneyland Hong Kong, New Land #1: GRIZZLY GULCH

        I am truly amazed at Disneyland's way of making things. When they make something, they make sure that they make it right, in every little detail. They practically bring the magic on screens to life when you step inside Disneyland. And their three new expansions have just proven this yet again. It is just amazing!...

Starting with The Grizzly Gulch! An exclusive land to Hong Kong Disneyland!

        As soon as you step in Grizzly Gulch, as if the world suddenly completely transforms into a western town complete with live geysers, "WANTED" western posters, jail, and gold! You immediately feel like one of the earliest settlers during the time of the gold rush!

        Inside both of these buildings are huge water pump guns that you can play with the shoot at each other. I was about to take photos but took a step back. I didn't want to give my camera a shower hehehe.

The Geyser Gulch

        So apparently, this western town was built on a bed a geyser. And it's active! So you will see a couple of geysers around the place. Every few seconds they blow up, possibly splattering water on you, which makes for a great water play area. Don't worry, it's not actually hot (obviously). Although it look like it because of Disney's efforts to make every little detail seem real! 

There's some steam effects to make it look like a real hot geyser.

Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars

        What's a Gold rush themed land if there's no mine cars to look for gold? Hop into one and experience the for what is possibly the smoothest roller coaster ride I ever ridden! 

        I have to admit, when I first saw this ride at one of the commercials at Disney Junior (our TV is always on Disney Junior. Rain would not allow it to be switched haha) Anyway, I didn't think it was as awesome as it was when I actually tried it. 

        It's very fast but somehow all the turns it makes are so smooth! Unlike in other roller coasters wherein sharp turns make you slam your hip against the side of the seat and get a huge bruise. 

        I also love the uncertainty of what's going to happen next in this ride. It packs a lot of surprises! It's just absolutely awesome! I knew it wasn't an extreme roller coaster compared to other death defying ones, but it was more thrilling than what I was expecting. Just perfect for the Disneyland crowd. You must be at least 112 cm to ride this.

And in case you were wondering where Rain was at this time, I asked my husband if I could ride first and he would stay with Rain and my Mom-in-law at the Lucky Nugget Saloon. (I was too excited! I didn't even give him the chance to ask if he could ride first hahaha!). Then we swapped after.

        What made this ride extra special and memorable for me was the fact that my seatmate was my father-in-law! It's so fun seeing him have a great time like he was a child again! This proves that one can never be too old to enjoy the attractions of Disneyland! 

Lucky Nugget Saloon

        If you get hungry you can grab a quick bite at the Lucky Nugget Saloon. They offer fish and chips, shrimp and chips, salad, and more!

So far, that's it for Grizzly Gulch! 

Oh, and we were lucky enough to bump into Chip and Dale for a nice Photo op!
