Longchamp PLANÈTES from Lazada

Longchamp Le Pliage Neo Large

Longchamp is the only branded bag I've grown to love because it's so simple, it's very sturdy, I can just dump my everyday stuff (and that's a lot!) and it still won't look too stuffed. I have to admit I didn't like it at first. But maybe that was because I haven't experienced having one at that time. But when I bought my first ever Longchamp, I slowly felt it was the perfect bag for people like me who have to carry lots of things in their bag everyday, but still look classy but laid back.

I bought my first one at Lazada. It was a LONGCHAMP PLANETES, Large with a long handle. I was worried at first that it might be a fake one. But fortunately, after researching and checking for indicators of a fake Longchamp bag, it passed. And when you hold it it really feels like top quality.

Disclaimer (Update):

Before I go on, I would first like to say that I'm not a bag expert. Everything is just based on my comparison and research on the net.I'm merely a mom who wanted to buy something nice for myself online.  And also, I am not guarantying that this online shop sells 100% authentic bags. This is just based on my personal experience :-) As always, buy at your own risk, and do your due diligence in researching before buying :-)

Longchamp Le Pliage Neo Large

Moving on, Lazada delivered it to me in a plastic, with the Longchamp paperbag folded inside.

Here it is! LONGCHAMP PLANETES Large Long Handle Bag (Violet)

Compared to the normal Le Pliage (brown leather flaps), the  LONGCHAMP PLANETES doesn't have diamond criss cross marks on it, or the Le Pliage Neo's checkerd texture . This one is just smooth.

I just really love the size! I always bring a lot of stuff with me. No matter how much I try to eliminate things in my bag, I still end up with a bulk. Go figure. The curse of the mommy. Hahaha. So the Longchamp large for me is really perfect.

UPDATE!!!:

Thank you to an anonymous user who commented, she pointed out a difference in the zipper of my bag and a Lonchamp Le Pliage Neo having big plastic zipper teeth. This is when I realized that I mixed up the name of this bag with my other bag. This one in this post is the LONGCHAMP PLANÈTES tote. (Not Le Pliage Neo as I originally stated). So I have already updated the blog post :-) Thank you again! :-)

Also another update, seems like the LONGCHAMP PLANÈTES model has been discontinued (http://forum.purseblog.com/longchamp/longchamp-le-planetes-being-discontinued-866022.html)

  1. Actually, designer stuff from Lazada and online deals sites are quite dubious because they are sold at much cheaper prices as compared to those in the physical stores. This bag is really perfect for everyday use and the size is great. I love the color as well--it's my favorite. :) Thanks for sharing this post. Now buyers can worry less thinking if it's a fake or authentic one!

  5. Best way to validate is go to Rustan's and do an up close comparison. I bought mine in Paris and the zipper teeth are large and made of plastic, not the usual small and metal like material used in Le Pliage models (not neo). You can check http://us.longchamp.com/handbags/le-pliage-neo/tote-bag-1899578?sku=42053. If you zoom in on the image of the navy, left side clearly shows the zipper with large plastic teeth. I came across your post because I've been contemplating whether to trust authenticity of items sold in Lazada. The only last thing that makes me doubt is the price - how can they sell it at a price cheaper that the cheapest outlets in Paris and yet still make a profit. If all the parts of the bag satisfy the buyer then it does not matter if it's fake or not. What makes it bad is if seller claims that it is authentic without verifying their goods by comparing with original stuff because this would be deceiving the buying public.

    1. Hello! Thank you for pointing out a very good point with the sipper for me to realize me error in my post. The model is not Le Pliage Neo. Apologies! This is the PLANÈTES tote bag (corrected the post already thank you!). Hence the smaller zipper teeth and the difference in the flap texture compared to Neo.(http://www.longchampsforsale.com/longchamp-planetes-tote-bag/680-longchamp-planetes-tote-bag-black.html)

I mixed the name up apologies! Because I also got a Le Pliage Neo (emerald green) from Lazada as well which so far looks okay as well. But of course I'm not a bag expert as well. All just based on comparison and research :)

I also still don't know how they can sell it for half the price. Mind boggling! The only reason I can think of is that they don't have a physical store wherein they have to pay rent and also maybe because they buy a huge bulk, and maybe getting a wholesale price? gain I'm just guessing. But I really want to know as well :)

  9. Fake. The crimped on the plastic tag photo gave it away. The real or authentic ones will never have that even if you intentionally fold it or crimped it. Not unless, you do it with heat or fire.
