La Buona Cucina Italiana at Seda Hotel BGC

Pasta

It was such excellent timing that I got the pleasure to try an amazing Italian Apericena buffet the other day just when I was badly craving for a risotto from watching Hell's Kitchen the night before. And I was extra lucky to be tasting regional dishes created by a multi-awarded Italian Chef, Chef Salvatore de Vincentis. And lucky for us all, he will be serving as an informal ambassador of the country’s cuisine during a two-month promotional series at Seda hotels throughout the country called La Buona Cucina Italiana.

Salvatore de Vincentis

The La Buona Cucina Italiana's concept is Apericena, which in layman's term basically means tasting portions presented in a beautiful way. Although they are served in small portions, don't forget that this is a buffet. Which means you can go back and get more. And I'm telling you, I sure did get full quick!

This beautiful spread is filled with no ordinary Italian food. These are all well-loved authentic regional dishes using fresh Italian ingredients. Chef Salvatore has made it sure that everything he cooks are done in the same traditional way as his Grandmother and Uncle taught him while growing up in Sorrento.

Here's a quick photo gallery of the spread!

Caprisa Mozerella

The Caprisa Mozerella is delicious. Goes really well with the olive oil and the cherry tomatoes. The mozerella came from Sorento.

And to my delight, Chef Salvatore also prepared an a la carte selection with different dishes from different Italian regions.

And for dessert...

As soon as I saw the dessert spread, I couldn't wait to get into it. I was so excited to try it that I think I may have rushed through the savory dishes. And as soon as I got to try it, it did not disappoint!

This was my favorite! The filling oozes happily out of the donut!
